This small fishing boat was resting in the mud on the Blackshore at Southwold.

I have had my eye on a row of Oak trees all winter and especially this one. I have nearly sketched it several times but finally decided that if I left it much longer I would loose it’s fantastic winter form. This tree is on a lane out the back of Wrentham which leads to Covehithe.

These pigs are just down from Covehithe church in the field by the side of the road. After a day spent at Minsmere gathering reference for Avocet paintings. A beautiful day with Adders a couple of Otter sightings and Peacock and Comma butterflies which meant I left my sketch a bit late today.

A morning sketch on Pakefield Beach just on the Northern side of All Saints and St Margarets Church. A little chilly with the Marram grass blowing.

As promised on Look East I went to Dunwich to do my sketch today. However the idea to sketch the beach and or boats gave way to this. This is the remaining buttress of All Saints Church.
I was fortunate to come across this wonderful article by Tom Cox which has more information about the buttress.
