After a very wet night on this cold day it finally stopped drizzling to take a walk down on Kessingland beach. It was very dull without any breaks in the clouds and visibility was very poor. With the strong wind the waves were breaking well on the beach. I have included a few Sanderlings in the picture but in fact the flock was well over 50 birds.
As I was down Ipswich way delivering paintings for the Suffolk Show art show at Trinity Park this coming Wednesday and Thursday I made a detour on the way home to Woodbridge where I sat and sketched the Tide Mill. I would have liked to spend longer on this sketch but it was cold blowy and drizzling and my chinagraph pencils were not ideal. On another day I would have added much more detail to the fishing smack “Good Intent” which was moored in front.
Another day of solid painting in the studio in preparation for the Suffolk Show, so again something from the garden this time an Everlasting Pea.
In Norwich with my friends Collective 7 participating in Norfolk Open Studios. Whilst there I sketched a Lily from the garden.
Busy day painting in the studio so I have fetched these dandelion seed heads in from the garden. Ready to spread their seeds into the air. A bit of a menace but also strangely beautiful.
