My 2018 challenge part 2

My 3 minute sketches part 2

22nd Jan: Such a simple object but full of geometric form, simple and part of our everyday lives but also well designed.

23rd January: I think the man in the supermarket thought me a little strange asking for that Sardine until I told him it was just for sketching. Then he knew it was strange.

24th January: Part of my shopping for the week at some point I think a curry is on the menu. Such a simple shape but so easily to recognise.

25th January: Today I have been lino carving so my tools were out and on the bench, hopefully this make it to print early next week.

26th January: I have been unwell with my asthma hence so many indoor sketches, even this one is through my back door. This is just the sence that spring is around the corner.

27th January: My dog’s tennis ball, loved the furry shadow thrown by the strong light source.

My 2018 challenge

3 minute sketches

My first days sketch says it all, a sketchbook (although it will be several by the end), a pencil and an egg timer.

This year all my sketches will be governed by the egg timer, all done in 3 minutes!

I have and will post daily on twitter, facebook and instagram but will post these up on the website in blocks (hopefully every week). So here are the first 21.

Sketch a week exhibition

Sketch a week exhibition

I wanted to say thank you to the many people who visited the Ferini Gallery for the private view of my 2017 colour sketch a week challenge. The exhibition will run at the Ferini Gallery until the 25th of February and I hope you will be able to visit the gallery to see them. For some of my subscribers and followers I understand that this may not be possible so I have put all the sketches into a gallery page so that you can at least view them here.

A beautiful video made by Michaela and Paul to promote my forthcoming exhibition of the sketch a week challenge.
