Couldn’t resist an invitation from Julie and Ben to draw their pedigree Limousin herd out at Banham. A herd of 40 mostly 2 years olds in calf.
“The night time hunter” YANA day 70 of 100
When I was young this was the night time sound I most remember. Nearly every night I would hear them screeching their “keewit”and hooting “hu hu huuuuu”. Mostly when they were calling I would never see them. More likely they are spied at dusk or roosting during the day.

So yesterday I mentioned that Erica also had these sheep in her field of Dexters. Black welsh mountain sheep who have no mountain but are very happy.

I spent the morning out at Blyford on a small holding with Erica and her long legged Dexters. A small herd (literally) made up of mums and their calves. The Dexters share the field with some Black Welsh mountain sheep but it was these two mischievous calves that caught my attention.
