Day 118, of my 2016 sketch a day challenge

Today I revisited the Pier heads in Lowestoft. Last time I was here it was to see off the the fishing trawler Deodar Brixham as she left these shores to sail back to Sweden after her round Britain tour in the Summer. Deodar was built in Brixham in 1911 and fished out of Lowestoft between 1911-1937 as part of the once large Herring fleet. http://www.deodar.se/

Day 115, of my 2016 sketch a day challenge

The Martello tower at Slaughden, Aldeburgh. A little difficult to get to with the sea wall being repaired at the moment. On top is one of Antony Gormley’s cast iron figures (part of his work entitled “Land” which features 5 figures) facing east looking out across the North Sea. Today with rain and hail showers falling from the sky.
