From my garden a branch of Damson with budding leaves and blossom. The leaves are a beautiful fresh green and the blossom pure white with beautiful yellow anthers.

Kessingland beach has a quantity of flint pebbles of varying sizes. These come from the cliffs and longshore drift and are beautifully softened by the action of the sea.

A few egg cases that have been washed up on the beach at Kessingland, Suffolk. The are better known as Mermaid’s purses or Devil’s purses. I am not 100% sure but I think these may be from Thornback Rays.

Anyone who knows this part of the coast will be familiar with the Phragmites Reed. This one was from Potters Bridge near Southwold where it forms an extensive reedbed. At this time of year we have last years seed heads.
