A few egg cases that have been washed up on the beach at Kessingland, Suffolk. The are better known as Mermaid’s purses or Devil’s purses. I am not 100% sure but I think these may be from Thornback Rays.

Day 85, of my 2016 sketch a day challenge
The pool beside the hide at Island Mere, RSPB Minsmere. The wind kept rippling the water and kept the Bearded Reedlings and Reed Buntings deep in the reeds. Over the reeds Marsh Harriers were constantly quartering.
