“Zoe milking one of the cows at Fiona’s Calf at the dairy” YANA day 29 of 100

All of the Jersey x Redpolls are each milked one at a time at the morning milking. Each cow waits patiently in the yard until Zoe brings each one into the milking shed. https://www.the-calf-at-foot-dairy.co.uk/

“Chicken rooting around in the farmyard” Day 28 of 100

On many small farms you will find a few chickens supplying a source of free range eggs. At Calf in the foot dairy were such chickens and as I keep being asked when are you doing chickens I though the moment had come. I am sure I will visit them again too.

This morning started bright and early at 6am at the calf at foot dairy with Fiona and Zoe. On the farm they keep about 40 Jersey/Red Poll cows and we herded these from marshes and up the path to the dairy to be milked. Today’s sketch is the herd en route to the dairy. I …
